Austrains QRN X Class Diesel Loco
The factory surprised us by shipping the X class models early.
They were expected around April but the first were air freighted in during the first few days of February. These have now been posted out.
If you have not received your ordered models please contact us.
Those who didn’t pre order don’t despair. Another shipment of X class is due to arrive by sea sometime in April.
Meanwhile we still have some stock remaining from the air freight if you want to try your luck.

The 1st series X Class locomotives, with their EMD 16-567E engines, are capable of outputting 1840HP/1350kW. The 2nd and 3rd series X Class have an up-rated EMD 16-645E capable of an increased 2240HP/1650kW.
The X Class has been used on both Broad and Standard gauges, used for all sorts of traffic, from inter-city passenger services, freight traffic and hauling the crack expresses; Spirit of Progress, Intercapital Daylight, The Overland and the Southern Aurora passenger trains. The X Class has been through running to Sydney on the Standard gauge since 1982.
